Help out the Rails-to-Trails Conservacy
Here’s how you can do your part and help recycled neglected rail corridors into an area of good use for your community and your earth.
1. Call, write, or visit a member of Congress to urge the support for polices protecting the rails. Visit rail-trail and see how beautiful these corridors can really be.
2. Organize a biking group or a hiking group in your area where the corridors are and show how beneficial rail trails can truly be.
3. Take a pledge to Burn Calories, Not Carbon by walking and biking more and not driving as much.
4. Volunteer and learn about the opportunities by contacting your local Rail to Trails Conservancy. There are several things you can do to get the conservancy started in your own communities’ rail corridors.
5. Visit Rail to Trails to help plan your next trip and find the best trails for biking, hiking and even horseback riding. You can even find trails that offer skiing and hiking as well.
