The New Hybrid Heating Systems
Tuesday, November 25th, 2008
Watching the news one night with my husband and going over my notes for the following day, I could not think of anything to write about for Natural and Sustainable for the winter season. I wanted it to be a fresh post with a new product and I racked my brain as I scoured over some papers I picked up at the local library. As the news went on a commercial break there on the screen was my next post.
Hybrid heating systems. Bryant and Carrier offer these new hybrid systems and they are the best source for renewable energy. My father has been in the HVAC business for about 12 years and this is a great advancement in this field. I was actually super impressed with these new hybrid systems that I had to do some more research.
All of these hybrid heating systems not only save you money because them being Energy Star Approves, they also save resources that can hurt the environment. These units are efficient and just like hybrid cars they use two sources for power. Hybrid heating systems use electric heat pumps during cool weather and furnaces during extreme temperatures. They are above and beyond the best type of system to have within your home thus far. The heat pump was once the best but a hybrid will save you even more money on heating costs, especially in areas where the temperatures get way below freezing.
*Natural and Sustainable Living Tip: Sealing your windows in the winter months is one way to help keep heating costs down as well. Consider replacing windows that are worn out and the seals are gone.
