Here is a list of some great earth-friendly house wares that are biodegradable in every way.
• For your table, give Grenway Ecology & Design a try. They have plates and bowls and they are all made from bamboo, straw, as well as rice hulls. They will start to biodegrade in as little as four months, which is a huge step in the right direction for our earth.
• For bed linens, give LoooLo Textiles a try. They carry blankets and pills that are made from organic cotton and even nontoxic chemicals. They all will begin to break down in as little as one year. This means less fabric waste in our landfills that is a huge change for the many textiles wastes that currently lay in landfills worldwide.
• For eco-friendly trashcan options, give Umbra a try, they carry receptacles that are made from plastic that will begin to break down in the landfill 10 times faster than conventional plastic.
• For eco-conscious pens, give Grass Roots Stores a go, they offer ball point pens that are made form Matter-Bi, which is a material derived straight from cornstarch and it will begin to biodegrade within a year if placed in the land fill.
• For eco-friendly planter options, try Eco Source Online. They offer Coir’s containers that are made from coconut and biodegradable latex that will begin to break down, in the landfill, within a year.
