Brad Pitt has taken the Green Route
Brad Pitt has really come through for the residence of New Orleans. Ever since hurricane Katrina, Brad Pitt has been in the process of helping rebuild. Even through it has been two and a half years since the hurricane, there is still a major cleanup still taking place throughout the city. And Brad Pitt has felt the need to step up and give a helping hand in this clean up efforts.
Not only is he helping with the clean up, he is also helping to replace and even rebuild some houses throughout the devastating area. He has already rebuilt many houses and he plans on incorporating green efforts into these rebuilding efforts as well.
The concept behind what he wants to achieve is a town that can function on eco-friendly principles. Many of the houses he has had a hand in replacing that were taken out with the hurricane already show signs of the eco-friendly nature behind his cause.
In an interview with Ann Curry, Mr. Pitt stated that he wants to help those who agree to the eco-efforts to cut there energy bill by 65%. He would like to see those who live in these new earth-friendly houses pay zero to live there. His rebuilding in New Orleans is known to many as the Make it Right Homes.
Many residence in the New Orleans area lost not one or two things in the hurricane destruction, but everything they own. It’s nice to see that celebrities are able to use their good fortune to help others and not only in a humanitarian effort but also in an earth-friendly, better for the environment way. Let’s hope that Brad Pitt’s effect on New Orleans will have a positive effect worldwide as well.
